Nike Air Max 1 - forever part of footwear history
The Nike Air Max 1 is the shoe for anyone who values running efficiency, comfort and excellent shock absorption. This is a shoe with more than 30 years of history, and with constant progression in both technological benefits and fashionable appearance. The Centre George Pompidou in Paris is the inspiration of Air Max 1. Tinker Hatfield, the man behind the shoe, had the centre's famous "inside out" design in mind when taking the Air Max cushioning from hidden within the sole, to being a part of the visual aesthetics of the shoe's design.
Nike Air Max 1 - the air bag won't puncture
In 1987, Nike took the sneaker world by storm when launching this modern and utterly innovative new design, the Nike Air Max. Today it's most commonly known as Air Max 1, the first sneaker to feature a visible air cushioning unit in the heel. This kick-started an everlasting output of designs that uses Nike's most innovative technology. Initially, people were concerned that the visible air unit would puncture, but as it turned out, the air bag generally outlives the midsole that it is embedded in.
Nike Air Max 1 - how to look after air
The thick rubber sole with its visible air bag makes the Nike Air Max range such an easily recognised trainer. We know that you will want to keep these shoes around for a very long time and here are some of our tips on how to keep them nice and clean. Start off by removing excess dirt using a soft-bristled brush to clean the outsole. Mix warm water and a small amount of laundry detergent to create a slightly soapy mixture. Apply a small amount of the water/detergent mixture to a sponge, soft cloth or soft brush and clean dirty areas. If your Air Max 1 have an upper portion made of leather or suede, we recommend to spray them with a leather impregnation. This will make them withstand moist and dirt better, especially during wet seasons. Never machine wash the shoes and always let them air dry in room temperature.
Nike Air Max 1 - the bubble that doesn't bust
Nike Air Max 1 is known for its high sloping sole, allowing efficient forward movement. Not only is the visible air bag an impressive factor, the performance aspects and cushion capabilities are still a competitive advantage for runners. Over time, we have seen a ton of materials, themes and technologies incorporated into the iconic silhouette. Traditional branding is found throughout each colour combination with logos on the tongue, heel and sides. The many designs provide versatility throughout the year.
